Our team at *The Recruiting Pros is conducting a high-priority search for a Production Manager Trainee on behalf of a growing company in the Walnut Cove, NC area. In this role you will participate in a program to give you on-the-job learning and training by working in many areas of production giving you the most holistic view of management at the plant level. This position has the potential to offer career advancement including increase in responsibility and pay. In this role you will effectively lead and direct approximately 15 - 25 production employees to meet daily production, quality and safety objectives. You will be responsible for the on-time and efficient delivery of quality products and will be relied on to make recommendations to improve production processes to ensure maximum output, cost efficiency and safe working conditions. Additionally, you will plan work schedules, provide guidance for production team members and assist with disciplinary action when needed. *This is an immediate, full-time, permanent position and will require you to work a twelve (12) hour shift. You will start on first shift and will transition to second shift for a period of time to gain an understanding of this shift as well.


*Routine responsibilities will require you to: *

  • Lead, direct and motivate associates under your supervision on a daily basis
  • Ensure and maintaining safe work environment
  • Communicate information to associates to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of materials and product and to make sure associates possess the information needed to successfully perform their assigned job duties.
  • Possess a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the plant operations manufacturing processes
  • Have understanding and oversight of related equipment, machinery and systems, including the proper set up and control settings of the equipment.
  • Maintain a high-level working knowledge of all QC Systems and material / product testing equipment.
  • Maintain conformance of policies, rules and procedures on your shift.
  • Compile reports and production records
  • Identify and troubleshoot production issues and challenges; make recommendations to provide resolution
  • Take appropriate coaching, counseling and corrective action (when necessary) with non-conforming associates.
  • Analyze and trouble shoot equipment and machinery.
  • Manage time and attendance system (Kronos) on a daily basis for all direct report employees.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including all machinery and equipment.
  • Other duties as required.
