Description

The HR Associate will provide support to key HR functions for effective and efficient operations of the organization’s Human Resource Department, specifically in the areas of employee benefits, employee engagement, and department compliance. The HR Associate will have the ability to work with all stakeholders professionally and perform work with strict confidentiality.

Position Schedule: Full time Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Salary Range: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour

Position Standards:

  • Perform clerical functions as related to benefits administration, including timely filing of documents, scanning, and medical file organization.

  • Update online forms and benefits material annually as requested to reflect changes in offerings; may assign new employees applicable online benefit orientation material and assist with annual open enrollment.

  • Maintain working knowledge of benefit plans and offerings for all employee groups to answer frequently asked questions from employees; refer complex inquiries to Benefits Administrator or alternate department member as warranted.

  • Provide routine support in the absence of the Benefits Administrator with leave of absence requests and COBRA notices.

  • Become proficient with HRIS to assist with data entry and report generation as requested.

  • Assist with department events including Staff Appreciation/Employee Benefits Day.

  • May act as the Human Resources liaison for Staff Management meetings as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • Conduct exit interviews and compile response data for review with trends and recommendations.

  • Audit department files for compliance as assigned and document findings for Director review.

  • Travel to local agency sites as needed for training, meetings, events, etc.

  • Ensures all trainings and certifications required are current, and seeks further support and training where needed.

  • Performs other appropriate job-related activities as requested by supervisor or as circumstances warrant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred; minimum one year experience working in a human resources department required. A combination of education and experience may be deemed acceptable by the Director.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.

  • Experience with HRIS, Paylocity preferred.

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees via email, telephone, and in-person.

  • Must have a current NYS driver’s license, free of moving violations; deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier.
