Job Description
We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join GDIT as a Azure Cloud & Data Architect . As part of our deployment information technology team, you will develop a high-level understanding of the complex systems governing and facilitating our customer business operations, making recommendations, and implementing changes to increase efficiency and support overall application objectives. You will collaborate with GDIT technical leadership, Government customers, and other key stakeholders to assess our existing and new systems infrastructure. You will work closely with our Security assessment team to make sure all architectural design meets agency policy and guidelines. You will then determine how best to update, upgrade, and reorganize our technology to create a lean, efficient Systems/Solutions Architecture capable of supporting our various projects and goals. You will maintain production application system architecture documentation thought out the life cycle of the application.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Analyzes customer requirements and provides highly innovative technical expertise on cloud computing techniques, technologies, infrastructure, DevOps and related cloud architectures
Provides expert knowledge for the research, evaluation, and deployment of advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics
Ability to translate program vision and requirements into Levels 0 to 3 technical architecture drawings using tools such as Visio and Lucid
Provides expert knowledge for data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas and defining domain specific ontologies
Provides expert knowledge for the development of highly complex data services, algorithms, and applications using various Microsoft Azure Data services.
Maintains current and advanced knowledge of progressive and advancing technology as assigned.
Provides expert guidance and leadership to less experienced cloud development personnel
May serve as a task or project leader (Not a people manager)
May consult with executives and customers to deliver complex cloud development solutions
Recognized as a subject matter expert in cloud technology and services
Demonstrates expertise in platform and system integration, ensuring seamless interoperability between various cloud-based and on-premise systems.
Provides advanced knowledge of API development, API management, and implementation strategies to enhance scalability and system efficiency.
Possesses deep understanding and experience in identity and access management, implementing robust security protocols to protect sensitive data.
Leverages data engineering and analysis expertise to design and optimize data pipelines, ensuring actionable insights and efficient data processing.
Azure Cloud & Data Architect Duties and Responsibilities
Design data infrastructure: Create data models, catalogs, and architecture standards.
Implement data solutions: Use Azure services like Azure Data Factory and Databricks to build data lakes and other solutions. Ensure data quality: Create policies and procedures to ensure data is reliable, accurate, and secure.
Collaborate with teams: Work with data analysts, cybersecurity teams, and business partners.
Provide technical guidance: Train team members on Azure data services and new technologies.
Ensure compliance: Make sure Azure data services meet security and compliance standards. Data Governance and Master Data Management: Ensure data governance and master data management using Azure Databricks or other recommended tools by the customer
Lead projects: Manage cross-functional projects to deliver agile cloud transformation.
Periodically audit existing systems infrastructure and architecture to ensure an accurate, high-level understanding of present capabilities
Update architecture diagrams to ensure accuracy on production systems
Report to leadership and key stakeholders regarding your findings, making recommendations and providing clear roadmaps for successful changes
Collaborate with other IT professionals and software engineers to develop systems solutions capable of supporting customer and NCC goals
Collaborate with the teams that implement changes in physical hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies including Cloud, On-Prem hosting including DevSecOps teams.
Working with PISO and Security to assist developing Authorization To Test (ATT). Authorization To Operate (ATO) and Authorization To Use (ATU).
Azure Cloud & Data Architect Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field; master's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of corporate Systems/Solutions Architecture processes and trendsStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Experience with software development cycles
Expert knowledge of programming languages and technologies, including Python, Java, PHP, Apex, Drupal, SharePoint, Atlassian, GitLab, .NET, Salesforce, Docker and Containers, NGINX, Postgres, Ruby on Rails
Secret Clearance
Required Technical Skills:
Cloud experience in Azure/Cloud.gov.
Relevant Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Security, CISSP, AWS
Hands on experience with navigating Microsoft’s Azure Platform
Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory
Develop a data strategy vision for users with high-end analytical needs by conducting technical briefings, prototyping, road mapping, and creating architecture diagrams. This involves building a data platform that supports data flows/pipelines, ETL/ELT and orchestration, data lake/data warehousing, geospatial analysis and services, big data query and analysis. Furthermore, support stakeholder activities using popular languages, tools, packages, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning frameworks within on-premise or cloud environments.
Supports program with Fin-Ops initiatives focusing on optimization and efficiency, automation, utilizing industry best practices, integrating data and infrastructure security in all components of the architecture and fostering strong stakeholder relationships
Works independently under limited supervision
Network Architecture: Active Directory, Load traffic management (Loadbalancers), WAF (Web Application Firewall) Systems/Solutions Architect Desired Experience
Visio experience and other analytics and reporting tools as desired by the customer
Knowledge of Service Now and other IT Operations Management
Experience
10 years of relevant experience (May vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree). Experience using MS Visio for updating diagrams.
Experience working in Federal or State government environments.
Ability to work independently and hybrid
The likely salary range for this position is $183,498 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
