Robert Half Staff Accountant in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description We are on the lookout for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team. Based in Washington, District of Columbia, this role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves playing a crucial part in our financial operations. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing journal entries, assisting with monthly and year-end closings, conducting bank reconciliation, maintaining fixed assets records, and reconciling general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly and year-end closings

• Conduct bank reconciliation and maintain fixed assets records

• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures

• Participate in compliance efforts and communicate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits

• Review schedules for reporting processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements

• Collaborate with internal teams to provide support and analysis for decision-making processes

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

• Use skills such as Adjusting Journal Entries, IMIS, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, Monthly Bank Reconciliation, and Credit Card Reconciliation in performing tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in preparing Journal Entries and Adjusting Journal Entries

• Experience with IMIS software

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) practices

• Ability to conduct Bank Reconciliations and Monthly Bank Reconciliation

• Experience in Credit Card Reconciliation

• Ability to manage Month End Close processes

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
