NATURE AND SCOPE: The Workforce Development Program Coordinator provides administrative, counseling, consultative, training and investigative support to apprentices, residents and interns. The goal of the Coordinator is to grow the Workforce Development program, foster prosperity for individuals within the HUH community and ensure the success of program participants through training and certification programs. Coordinates training in accordance with predetermined standards. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Conducts workforce development training needs assessments with industry, communities, training providers and intergovernmental agencies, ensures high quality training and promotes the training and certification opportunities to diverse audiences. May work with Learning & Development (L&D) to develop needed training courses/curriculum. Creates and delivers presentations and participates in the development and promotion of the workforce development model of training and recruitment; coordinates and monitors technical and on-the-job training. May work along with L&D to create monthly training calendars and arrange for internal or external trainers. Tracks and reports on results. May consult with management in cases of non-compliance and training certification lapses. Participates in the development of practical and technical training and may act as a resource for the applicable advisory committees and Training Providers regarding examination content. Works with outside agencies and schools to ensure continued growth and success of the HUH Workforce Development program. Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. CORE COMPETENCIES: Strong organizational, coordination, project management and prioritization skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to make effective presentations Ability to develop methods, procedures and systems to support learning initiatives and records maintenance. Advanced knowledge of workforce development system, legislation and regulations respecting the workforce development programs and a working knowledge of postsecondary education Advanced knowledge of trades, clients and cultural diversity, and a working knowledge of trends in the industry Well-developed conflict resolution, analytical and record keeping and administrative skills Ability to work effectively with diverse populations Strong ability to analyze client needs and write reports related to training initiatives. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office and Google applications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business Management. Three (3) years of experience in project management; Business and industry experience preferred. One (1) year of project leadership experience Must be able to acquire Greenbelt certification within one year of date of hire. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable. Demonstrated success in managing projects and programs that support client business objectives from concept through execution.
