NASA chose Axiom Space to develop its next-generation astronaut spacesuits for the Artemis lunar missions. These new spacesuits built by Axiom Space will provide astronauts with advanced capabilities for space exploration, while providing commercially developed human systems needed to access, live, and work in microgravity as well as on and around the Moon.
SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Embedded Graphics Software Engineer who will primarily be responsible for the design, development, and test of embedded and support software for the Axiom Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Spacesuit.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities will include the development, testing and deployment of embedded software on bare metal, Linux, and RTOS target environments.
Create, test, and integrate embedded software in prototype and flight environments.
Communicate and collaborate with subject matter experts across disciplines, users, and management through the software test and development,
Maintain the integrity of our disciplined software configuration and management processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field.
3+ years of experience developing software for microcontrollers and embedded systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with microcontrollers and SOCs
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovation safety-critical products
Experience working with Embedded Linux
Experience using operating systems (e.g., Linux, VxWorks, RTEMS) and communications protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C) to interface with spaceflight hardware.
Proficient with code in C/C++ Experience with development of safety critical software.
Familiar with NASA core Flight System software.
Familiar with MBSE concepts and processes preferred.
Experience working with Xilinx SOCs and related tools preferred.
Experience with low level performance profiling and optimization preferred
Experience with firmware development preferred
Essential Functions
Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
