Job Summary:

Mount Snow Child Care is looking for Assistant Educators to join our team of early educators. Programming in our five classrooms ranging from infants through prekindergarten focuses on play based learning experiences and exploration of Mount Snow within our early childhood education program and non-recurring program.

The Assistant Educator will support the Lead Educators in providing a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. The Assistant Educator will support the Lead Educator in developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities in the classroom. The Assistant Educator will support the Lead Educator with ensuring a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. This position will comply with all company and department policies along with following all state licensing regulations.

Job Specifications

  • Expected Pay Range: $21.00 - $22.54 / hour

  • Shift & Schedule Availability:  Full Time, Seasonal

  • Typical Hours: 7:30am - 4:45pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of curriculum through classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards

  • Support co-teachers with the planning of individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, emotional and physical growth

  • Support the frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports & parent-teacher conferences

  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met

  • Support co-teachers with ensuring a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children

  • Support the maintenance of accurate records, forms and files

  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement

  • Support a positive teaching team, and a positive and welcoming environment for children and guests

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Must meet the requirements of at least a Teacher Assistant outlined by Vermont's Child Care Licensing Regulations; High School Diploma/ GED and approved higher education credits.

  • At least 1 year of professional child care experience.

  • Must Meet state licensing requirements for positon qualifications.

  • Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certifications (can obtain within 4 weeks of start date).

  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to work well with others and foster a team environment.

  • Strong understanding of child development, and open to professional development opportunities.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and emerging leadership skills.

  • Ability to follow all procedures and guidelines as outlined in the employee handbook and state licensing regulations manual.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

The expected pay range is $21.00 - $22.54. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
