Description

We are in search of an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team based in the Bohemia area. The primary role is to oversee all accounting functions, with a focus on cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health of our organization, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including cost accounting and financial reporting

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the accounting department

• Develop and implement effective financial strategies, controls, and systems

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to review costs and make proactive cost-effective decisions

• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards

• Prepare and present financial reports and metrics to internal teams and stakeholders

• Provide leadership and support to the accounting team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement

• Conduct regular financial analysis, identify and manage financial risk, compile and analyze financial reporting packages

• Coordinate budgeting and planning processes

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years experience in an accounting managerial or supervisory role is required

• Proficiency in all aspects of accounting functions is necessary

• Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices is needed

• Essential experience in the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in using Infor Visual ERP software is helpful

• Exceptional leadership and team management skills are required

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities are needed

• Proficiency in Office Suite, particularly strong Excel skills, is required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred

• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices is needed

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously is required

• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations is necessary

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion is required.
