WICHITA FALLS-CITY OF DEPUTY CITY MARSHAL - MUST BE LICENSED TX PEACE OFFICER in Wichita Falls, Texas
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this position is to provide security and protection to the Citys Court personnel and visitors of the court by searching all court visitors through the utilization of metal detector equipment, scanning the court premises and facility via video surveillance, identifying possible offenders, standing in court rooms during cases and protecting court funds by transporting to appropriate locations. Other duties include providing serving warrants, assisting in the apprehension of wanted fugitives, communicating with persons holding knowledge of fugitives whereabouts, arresting and booking fugitives when appropriate, providing customer service support for the court system and interacting with other City employees and citizens.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed Texas Peace Officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE), and Texas Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center Operators Certificate (TCIC/NCIC) within one year of employment as a condition of continued employment. Annual Qualification of a firearm.

Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice 2 M Provides security for the Citys Court System by visually scanning court premises and facilities for offenders when conducting foot patrols, viewing surveillance images to identify questionable persons or actions in Court facilities, searching persons entering court facilities through the operation of metal detector equipment, standing in court rooms during cases to protect judges, visitors and clerks, protecting court monies during transportation to appropriate locations and documenting actions as necessary. 3 M Provides customer service support by answering telephone system when needed, responding to inquiries about court fees and fines, directing incoming callers to appropriate persons and departments and providing information to and interacting with visitors to Court facilities. 4 M Assists in the apprehension of wanted fugitives by providing investigative support when appropriate, determining whereabouts of fugitives, communicating with persons with likely knowledge of fugitives whereabouts, monitoring residences, businesses, vehicles, and groups of people to locate fugitives, arresting fugitives, transporting fugitives to jail, following booking procedures and documenting actions as necessary through proper paperwork. 5 M Completes other projects as assigned such as investigating false identity and failure to identify truthfully cases and validity of insurance policies by determining appropriate procedures and actions to follow, inspecting certificates and vehicle equipment when appropriate, communicating with possible offenders to determine further actions to be taken and documenting actions and results as appropriate. 6 M Oversees active nd cleared warrants by filing new warrants received, serving new warrants to appropriate persons, calling wanted subjects, retrieving old warrants from files, investigating and locating subjects on old warrants and documenting actions taken and results as appropriate.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: -Description of Minimum Job Requirements- Formal Education: Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. Experience: Over three years up to and including five years.
