Job Purpose and Impact

The Research Laboratory Technician position will lead the completion of chemical analysis and laboratory testing of new products in support of the Research and Development teams. In this role, you will receive and prepare samples for testing and document results of tests and communicating those results. You will also check and monitor and maintain the instruments and equipment that is used during the testing process.

Key Accountabilities

  • Receive, prepare and process sample for laboratory testing.

  • Conduct complex inspections for new product properties utilizing laboratory equipment and various analytical methods.

  • Understand and comply with safety regulations and other procedural compliance regulations.

  • Maintain inventory management for laboratory supplies and sterilization of lab areas and equipment.

  • Interpret and document results of all tests and internally communicates results verbally or in writing as required.

  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members.

  • Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Required

  • High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to conduct repetitive hand motions in a laboratory setting

Preferred

  • Experience with email, spreadsheet, presentation and word processing applications

  • Ability to work efficiently individually and in a team environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively to various levels in the organization

  • Prior experience in chemistry laboratory related work
