Dates of Need: 9/1/2024-4/10/2024. This job requires a minimum of three (3) months of general farm labor experience.\ The lifting requirement for this position is 60 pounds.\ Asumendi Produce is a fixed-site employer who grows, harvests and packs onions.

Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, etc. Forklift/Hyster Driver Specifications: The Forklift driver is responsible for inspecting the forklift. Forklift drivers use knobs and levers to operate the forklift.\ Forklift driver duties:\ Before use of equipment, employer will provide, at no cost to workers, forklift safety certification training in accordance with OSHA general industry safety orders.\ Duties include the moving and stacking bins, transferring, and stacking of bins full of product onto the trailer.\ The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:\ Follow all safety precautions for OSHA.\ Basic Counting Skills\ Ability to move, stack, and/or dump bins, gondolas, pallets, and crates while driving forklift on various types of surfaces, such as, concrete, hard dirt, mud.\ Ability to judge distances.\ Perform light maintenance checks prior to operation such as fuel, oil, and air for tires.\ Work in a timely manner to satisfy the needs of the awaiting crew.\ Load commodities on all types of trailers, trucks, and equipment.\ Always be aware of surroundings like power lines, poles, people, and other equipment\ Wear required safety goggles/glasses to protect against dust, dirt, and debris.\ Report all mechanical problems immediately.

Duties as include:\ Workers will stand on hard surfaces for long hours.\ Tasks will include bending, lifting and repetitive movements during the workday.\ Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.\ Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things\ Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles)\ Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met.\ Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.\ Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.\ Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails, and hand tools.\ Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools.\ Sort products, orders, or containers\ Clean materials, line, cartons, or work areas with cleaning solutions and proper hand tools.\ Remove any defected products or containers.\ Fill containers from line, spouts, or chutes.\ Load materials or product

Packing shed tasks also include:\ Sorting onions, removing debris and cull onions.\ Hanging empty bags on bag filling machines, lifting and stacking full bags and re-stocking packaging materials.\ Onion Stacker: Will stack onion bags up to 60 pounds on pallets for shipping in an onion packing shed.\ Workers will stand for long periods on hard, concrete surfaces.\ Workers will be required to clean packing shed and storage shed daily after each packing shift.\ Daily individual work assignments may vary and will be made as to harvest schedule and the needs of the onion shed operation dictate.

Employees must stand, sit, crouch, bend, reach and lift and carry items weighing up to 60lbs in the course of performing required activities.\ The anticipated hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of these crops, weather, and the requirement to send crops to customers when ne ded, it is the prevailing practice to work more or different hours than those listed.\ A worker may be offered more than the specified hours of work, however the worker will not be required to work for more than the number of hours specified in the job order, or on the workers Sabbath or Federal holidays. Saturday work may be required.

Employer-paid drug test is required if a worker has an accident at work.\ Work day start times vary depending on the weather. depending on the time of year, hours of daylight, and production requirements. Workers must be able to work varying shifts as\ required by the season and work performed. Workers are notified of any change in the start times. Work may be performed during rain, light snow, cold, freezing temperatures and/or\ in high humidity and in temperatures over a 100 degrees F. Worker may be required to work outside when it is wet and should have suitable clothing for variable weather conditions.\ Worker must possess requisite physical strength and endurance to repeat the harvest process throughout the workday.
