Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant located near Traverse City, Michigan. The primary role will involve assisting with all accounting and financial aspects of the business, reporting to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Generate recurring journal entries to maintain the financial records of the company.

• Conduct general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Provide cost accounting analysis to aid in financial decision making.

• Monitor and manage project accounting to ensure accurate tracking of project costs and revenues.

• Prepare budgets to facilitate financial planning and control.

• Perform cross-function auditing to ensure internal controls are effective and efficient.

• Take part in other projects as they arise throughout the fiscal year, contributing to the overall success of the business.

• Use skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, Journal Entries, and Month End Close to carry out responsibilities efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, Journal Entries, and Month End Close.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
