M.C. Molds Inc. is seeking an experienced Programming Supervisor
*Overview: *We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled CAM Programming Supervisor to oversee and manage our Programming Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading a team of programmers to ensure timely and accurate programming of all our CNC machines.
Responsibilities:
- Direct daily work assignments to meet quality, cost and schedule commitments.
- Manage and supervise Programming personnel on various softwares and ensure daily tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Oversee & perform research, development, evaluation, installation, operation and maintenance of new and existing CAM software that increases efficiency and quality.
- Research, write and develop Macro's that reduce our programming time for standard mold components.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet production goals.
- Analyze 3D files and 2D Drawings, and specifications to determine programming requirements.
- Determine the best tooling and machining strategies for each part.
- Optimize cutting speeds and feeds that minimize cycle times, improve cavity finish and maximize tool life.
- Review Programming staff's work for accuracy and completeness before they are sent to the shop floor.
- Train and mentor Programming staff.
- Keep up-to-date with advances in CNC technology and programming techniques.
- Create 3-axis & 5-axis CNC machining programs using WorkNc, Surfcam and Powermill for a variety of mold components.
- Generate programs that minimize setups and secondary operations and maximizes spindle run time.
- Other duties & projects as directed by Management.
Requirements:
- Must be able to program 3 axis and 5 axis CNC milling centers using 2D and 3D CAM software.
- A minimum of 5 full years of CNC programming using CAM software and minimum of two years within a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Must be able to read and understand blue prints.
- Must understand GD&T fundamentals.
- Knowledge of good fixture and jig practices.
- Knowledge of machining techniques, cutting tools, and toolpath optimization.
- Experience with CAD software is a plus.
- Ability to work with a cross functional team on a variety of projects.
- Willing to work overtime and on the weekends when needed.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication skills.
