Dartmouth Health Phlebotomist-Per Diem in Windsor, Vermont
POSITION SUMMARY
The Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for:
Performing venipunctures and capillary draws on Inpatients, Emergency Department patients, Outpatients, and outside clients such as nursing home patients, as required. Patient ages served are newborn to geriatric.
Answering the telephone, taking messages and acting as the Customer Service Representative of the Laboratory (looking up results, phoning/faxing results, etc.)
Performing and processing Holter Monitors.
Acting as a general receptionist for the Laboratory.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma
Experience: Preference is given to persons with prior phlebotomy trainingeither through an accredited course or previous experience. ASCPcertification in phlebotomy is desired/preferred.
Persons with prior customer service experience desired but notmandatory. Computer skills are mandatory.
Minimum experience – must have performed at least 50 successfulvenipunctures in the past.
