Overview
Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU at our M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital location in Woodbury, MN .
Within our ICU, our Registered Nurses are responsible for caring for patients who have many different diagnoses including, but not limited to, sepsis, overdoses, withdrawals, and surgical patients who need a higher level of care. Our complex patients require continuous hemodynamic monitoring, intense medication management, ongoing critical thinking, and excellent communication with team members and families. This is a fast-paced and highly technical medical environment.
Schedule: This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the Night shift.

18 beds mixed acuity
Ages 18+ Patient average length of stay: 3-4 days
Patient Population: Vents, codes, respiratory failures, septic patients, shock, unstable post surgicals, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,diabetics
Usually 7-14 patients a day, however we are going to be increasing these numbers

Responsibilities Job Description
As an ICU RN, you will be responsible for:
Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes;
Developing an individualized nursing plan of care;
Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care;
Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;
Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;
Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate;
Demonstrating the ability to advance care by applying standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;
Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and
Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Nursing
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Valid RN Licensure from MN Board of Nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association
Preceptor experience
Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience
