Your New Role...

We are looking for 2 x interns to support CNN teams in the Abu Dhabi. This is a rotating internship, and you will spend 3 months working closely with the CTW, News Gathering & Tech Ops and the other 3 months with Features, giving you a 360-degree training and exposure in one of the most dynamic and worldwide news channels in the business.

Your Role Accountabilities...

First 3 months

You will need to be able to jump in and support Becky and the team with the CTW shows; you will learn how to build a show run down, produce news segments, pitch and book news making guests and research segments for guest interviews. There will be opportunities to join the team on shoots and supporting the tech ops team in the studio/control room, setting up lighting and live equipment, learn how to edit video packages and liaise with the Engineering departments. And our news gathering teams, learn how to verify news and video content, search for archive footage and draft written news pieces and package filed producing.

Second 3 months

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to create feature stories that engage, inform, and entertain audiences on CNN's television, digital, and social platforms around the globe. Immerse yourself in the world of storytelling as you work alongside our team of experienced storytellers who travel the world to capture captivating content. Based in our Abu Dhabi production hub, you will have a wide reach and unique access to the most compelling characters and their amazing stories. You will be involved in researching, pitching, planning, and putting together stories, segments, and programs on topics like travel, business, conservation, tech, and innovation in the Middle East. Your creativity and ideas will be valued as you contribute to the creation of original pieces for broadcast and online audiences.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • Bachelor’s degree in similar field

  • Full time availability

  • Passion for the news and a strong interest in storytelling on television

  • Excellent research skills

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented and reliable

  • Must be computer literate and well-versed in the areas of social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

  • A particular interest in the Middle East is absolutely key to the role

  • UAE residency

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro

  • Fluent written and spoken Arabic is desirable
